Scissor lift operation and inspection safety courses are designed to meet regulatory standards like CSA B354 (Canada) and OHSA of Alberta.

Course Content & Objectives

  • Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of local safety laws (e.g., Alberta OHS, WorkSafe BC, or OSHA) and operator responsibilities.

  • Pre-Operation Inspection: Essential visual and functional checks of mechanical components, platform controls, and safety devices to identify defects.

  • Safe Operation Techniques: Instruction on vertical movement, steering, positioning on stable ground, and navigating obstacles.

  • Hazard Identification: Recognition of risks such as uneven surfaces, overhead power lines, adverse weather, and platform overloading.

  • Stability & Capacity: Understanding the lift's center of gravity and strict adherence to manufacturer-rated weight limits.
