The rule is that staff holding an approved certificate must be always onsite. This rule applies to the following food facilities:

  • Bars and lounges
  • Butcher shops
  • Cafeterias
  • Caterers
  • Convenience stores
  • Delicatessens
  • Mobile food trucks, except those trucks selling only pre-packaged foods and coffee
  • Restaurants
  • Social care facilities, like daycares and senior homes

Saltus Professional College offers Food Handler certification through in class delivery.The course has 4 modules with total of 13 lessons

Module 1: Food safety

Lesson 1: List food contamination and sources
Lesson 2: Manage Food-related illness & allergy
Lesson 3: Food related acts, ethics, and liabilities

Lesson 4: Maintain super clean food premises and  food equipment

Module 2: Eliminating food-related illness

Lesson 5: Adopt safe attitude and behaviour workplace
Lesson 6: Understand the importance of Time & temperature
Lesson 7: Design Hygiene, Cleaning, and sanitizing procedures at workplace

Module 3: Working with food safely

Lesson 8: Purchasing, receiving & storing food safely
